The Richmond Hill Ringette Association (RHRA) was founded in 1981, in the
city of Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada. Our association is a not for profit
organization, run by enthusiastic volunteers. Our mission is to promote the
sport of Ringette, in the York region of southern Ontario. The association is
the home of Richmond Hill Lightning, and has a membership of about 150 players,
ranging from age 6 to 18.
Skill Levels
Richmond Hill Ringette welcomes non-skaters and skaters to join
at any age level. Playing ringette is a fun way to learn and improve skating
skills. Richmond Hill Ringette is committed to providing girls from 4 to
18 years of age with an opportunity to play ringette at a recreational level.
The season generally consists of one practice and one game each week. Practices
start in mid September and league play commences in early October and continues
through March. Ringette tournaments are available throughout the season, and
teams may participate if the coach, players and parents are interested. The
opportunity to play at a competitive level is available at some age groups,
starting at the “Petite” age category.
Get in the Game
Ringette is a great winter team sport for girls. Played
throughout Ontario, Canada and worldwide since 1963, the rules of ringette
emphasize speed, strategy and team effort.
